I'm leaving for the State Fair Tomorrow

Tomorrow I will be driving down to Los Angeles for the California State Science Fair. I am really excited! I now have a total of 528 participants, compared to 454 that I had for the county fair. I think I have a really good chance of placing in my category, which is Behavioral Sciences, if not in my division. I will set up my project on Monday and the judging and awards will take place on Tuesday. I will arrive back home early in the morning on Wednesday. I have decided that I will keep my website open to new participants even after the fair is over, just for the fun of adding more data.

Well, I need to go to bed. Thank you all so much for your support! I'll be posting about how things went at the State Fair when I get back on Wednesday and will have the reports sent out to everyone who gave me their email addresses when they participated by the end of the week.

I WON THE COUNTY SCIENCE FAIR!

I just got back from the awards ceremony at the Nevada County science fair where I won BEST OF SHOW in the high school division! Not only did I get a big purple rosetta and a $500 savings bond, but the best part of it is that I get to go to the state science fair at the University of Southern California On May 22. Another cool thing about that is that USC is on my top five list of colleges that I want to go to, so we'll be able to fit in a trip to the college while we're down there as well.

A reporter interviewed me after the awards ceremony and there will be a story in my local newspaper either this weekend or early next week. I'll be sure to post it here when it comes out.

Well, if you can't tell, I'm really excited right now. I will continue to collect data until the state fair, but I need to get to bed so I'm going to end this now.

It's Official! I'm in the Science Fair!

Tomorrow (Monday) I take my project to the fairgrounds for the county science fair. I'm excited, but also a little nervous. I really hope all of this hard work will pay off. I won't know until the awards dinner Thursday evening. If you know anyone who you think would like to do my experiment, go ahead and send them to the website. I really think I will move on to State, and I will incorporate any new data that I have collected between now and then.

So far, I have had a total of 454 participants. Over the next week or two, I will be compiling the PDF report I promised to send everyone who gave me their name and email address.

This whole project has been an amazing journey for me and I have really learned a lot from the experience. Thank you for being a part of it!

btw, below are a couple of pictures I took of my display board.

School-wide science fair is today!

Wow. It's now 3:00 AM my time. I'm just putting the finishing touches on my project for the school-wide fair. Both my teacher and I are very confident that I will go to the county science fair. Also, I will be changing the statistics and numbers up until the last minute, so feel free to continue telling people about my experiment.

Thanks!

"Other Information and Resources..."

I have added a section to the sidebar under "Archives" called "Other Information and Resources About Subliminal Messages." Right now it has two links. The first is a link to the Wikipedia article about subliminal messages. It is written from a critical viewpoint. The second link goes to an interesting article that explores different aspect of subliminal messages from a positive standpoint. All in all, these articles provide a great way for someone who is looking for information about subliminal messaging to hear from both sides of the issue. The wikipedia article also has links to other websites about subliminal messaging.

Also...Avatars are coming to the forum!
Either tonight or tomorrow I will be uploading avatars for you to use next to your username on the forum. Don't forget that you can also upload your own custom avatar as long us it is 80 x 80 pixels or less and does not contain mature content or languages.

Finally...I have had about 50 people participate in my experiment so far, which is PHENOMENAL, and tomorrow I will post some rough percentages of colors clicked for each video.

I'm going to bed, but don't forget: you can still have fun with other participants on the forum even while I'm not here. Check it out now! http://SciProj.yes2.us/Participants/forum

'Night!

Forum Now Working

The forum is now working. The problem was a little more complicated than I thought, but I prevailed in the end!

You can view the forum by clicking on the link to the right of the screen. I have also added a user ranking system by number of posts. You can find more information about this and other forum updates at http://sciproj.yes2.us/Participants/forum/viewforum.php?f=5.

In other news...

Eight people have already participated in my experiment! It has only been one day since it was launched and I haven't started to heavily promote it yet.
